Erasmus+ public event INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION in ANIMAL SCIENCE Different cooperation mechanisms & funding schemes When: Wednesday, June 6th 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. Venue: Exner-Haus BOKU, Peter-Jordan-Straße 82, 1190 Wien, EH05 (2nd floor) Organizer: Division of Livestock Sciences, BOKU-University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna Objective During this event, four projects demonstrate how successful international cooperation in the field of research, higher education and development can work. Insights into different funding schemes are given. The poster session and social gathering offers space for networking for both people involved in or interested in the livestock sector and cooperation with universities and research organizations. Schedule 15.00 welcome by Dr. Maria Wurzinger (Division of Livestock Sciences) 15.10 opening by Dr. Werner Zollitsch (BOKU Department of Sustainable Agricultural Systems) 15.20 presentations of international cooperation in animal science – projects and funding  Dr. Gabor Meszaros – “Genomics in selection and breeding for coat colour in South African Nguni cattle”. WTZ funding  Prof. Johann Sölkner – “LoCaBreed - Local cattle breeds of Burkina Faso – characterization and sustainable utilization”. APPEAR funding 16.00 – 16.30 break  Sarah Eichelberg, BA. – “EDULIVE – Transforming Higher Education to strengthen links between universities and the livestock sector in Argentina and Peru”. Erasmus+ funding  Dr. Maria Wurzinger – “Cashmere goats in Mongolia”. International cooperation in animal science - Programme for Erasmus+ public event

Erasmus+ public event INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION in ANIMAL SCIENCE Different cooperation mechanisms & funding schemes When: Wednesday, June 6th 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. Venue: Exner-Haus BOKU, Peter-Jordan-Straße 82, 1190 Wien, EH05 (2nd floor) Organizer: Division of Livestock Sciences, BOKU-University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna Objective During this event, four projects demonstrate how successful international cooperation in the field of research, higher education and development can work. Insights into different funding schemes are given. The poster session and social gathering offers space for networking for both people involved in or interested in the livestock sector and cooperation with universities and research organizations. Schedule 15.00 welcome by Dr. Maria Wurzinger (Division of Livestock Sciences) 15.10 opening by Dr. Werner Zollitsch (BOKU Department of Sustainable Agricultural Systems) 15.20 presentations of international cooperation in animal science – projects and funding  Dr. Gabor Meszaros – “Genomics in selection and breeding for coat colour in South African Nguni cattle”. WTZ funding  Prof. Johann Sölkner – “LoCaBreed - Local cattle breeds of Burkina Faso – characterization and sustainable utilization”. APPEAR funding 16.00 – 16.30 break  Sarah Eichelberg, BA. – “EDULIVE – Transforming Higher Education to strengthen links between universities and the livestock sector in Argentina and Peru”. Erasmus+ funding  Dr. Maria Wurzinger – “Cashmere goats in Mongolia”.
